In the middle of a performance, an actor from the Comédie-Française is murdered by poisoning. Martin, a member of the troupe who witnessed the murder at first hand, is soon under suspicion by the police and hunted down by the mysterious organization that ordered the killing. With the help of a comic strip artist, Claire, he sets out to unravel the mystery on an eventful journey through Europe.
