Historical dramas

Fascinating famous cases are likely to trigger visceral reactions. The story of Clémentine Delait, “the Bearded Woman” (Rosalie) or Anne/Jean-Baptiste Grandjean, an eighteenth-century intersex person (Girl for a Day) or that of the Salpêtrière women in Party of fools or Brother Marie-Victorin and Marcelle Gauvreau magnificent love (Tell me why things are so beautiful)  will plunge you into striking universes.

Comedies of all kinds

It is fun to watch comedies like Riviera Revenge, Open Season, Meet the Leroys and many other films... In the middle of this comedic euphoria, current topics such as male chauvinism, colonial identities, disabilities sometimes slip in: The Midwife, Here and There and A Little Extra Something, the mega success of French cinema.

RACCORD (ex-FRIC) films

For the emotion that grabs you in the gut, there is no one better than our independent French-Canadian filmmakers from the RACCORD (ex-FRIC) such as Jim Donovan (3 Seasons), Marie-Claire Marcotte (Neon Dreaming), Phil Comeau (Zachary Richard toujours batailleur), Josiane Blanc (Haut et fortes) to name but a few.

High-profile directors

Léa Pool (Hôtel Silence), Bachir Bensaddek (The Hidden Woman) from Quebec, Karolyne Natasha (Broken Waters) from Ontario, from France Robert Guédiguian (And the Party Goes On!), Yvan Attal (Breaking Point) weave a web of melodramas full of humanity, sensitivity and intrigue.

French international and French-Canadian short films

They are the pride of the program through their originality, their richness, their social, environmental, spiritual and creative impact.
