THE INHERITENCE OF FLORA

Spanish with English subtitles

1833. Flora Tristan, tired of her husband's mistreatment, flees France for Peru to claim what she considers her family heritage (her father was a Peruvian aristocrat). Upon his arrival, his uncle Pío Tristan changed his mother's will to leave Flora without money. She notes the social differences and the brutal ignominy of slavery in Peru. Back in France, she became a writer and committed herself to the rights of workers and women.

La herencia de Flora is based on the life of Flora Tristán, one of the most important representatives of global feminism, who in her time visited Arequipa to claim a family inheritance

Cinéfranco is proud to add its support and admiration to the many fans of the Moroccan souk festival.
