CINÉFRANCO GRAND PUBLIC 2023: OUR PROFOUND GRATITUDE

Cinéfranco Grand Public has come and gone like a beautiful dream populated by warm, positive French-speaking and allophone cinephiles.

Several spectators came dozens of times with sparkles in their eyes, a smile on their faces, arms wide open, and a joyous heart... The atmosphere of the screenings was friendly, almost intimate, as we felt like we were watching the films with our family.

The Cinéfranco team is infinitely grateful for this collective award of appreciation for the program, for the services of the volunteers, for the photos and videos taken by MALIZA CAPITAL, for the extraordinary work of our social media person and our press attachée, for the mythical Carlton venue known for its screenings of foreign arthouse films.

We wish you a happy holiday season filled with joy, harmony, unforgettable moments, and beautiful movies!

Cinéfranco

Cinéfranco, Toronto's international francophone film festival, is recognized as the most important francophone film festival in Canada. Founded in 1997 by Marcelle Lean, it has become an unmissable event for enthusiasts and lovers of French-speaking cinema. Cinéfranco highlights the diversity and richness of French-language cinema in order to generate greater appreciation and offer it increased visibility in our English-speaking environment. All films are screened in their original language, with English subtitles.

Cinematic Art

We consider cinematographic art as a tool for learning, discovery and entertainment, promoting mutual understanding and awareness of a common heritage based on the use of the French language, as well as the preservation of historical values. and culture of Francophone communities in minority settings.

Strong Point

Cinéfranco revolves around two festivals: the youth festival for students and their teachers and the general public festival for Francophones, Francophiles and allophone film lovers. Local, national and international francophone cinema and its artisans are at the heart of all the many activities carried out throughout the year by Cinéfranco.

Presentations

We present popular and award-winning films at Canadian (Toronto, Montreal) and international (Cannes, Namur, Paris, Montpellier, Locarno, Safi in Morocco, etc.) festivals. It is a general public program with the concern of the accessibility of these cinematographic works.
