Dounia has made it her mission to transform her destiny and that of her son Amir, who has an extremely rare genetic mutation affecting barely fifty children worldwide. Together, they hit the road, travelling from Canada to Vietnam, through Tunisia, France and Colombia. This journey becomes both a reason to live and an invitation for society to open up to difference. Unable to say the word “mom,” yet eager for life and its flavours, Amir embodies the luminous fragility of childhood. This documentary paints a moving portrait of a candid, radiant little boy and a resilient mother who, step by step, turns hardship into adventure.
