Jean-Louis, a mild-mannered family man, feels increasingly oppressed by the growing number of joggers and runners crossing through his neighbourhood. Along with his wife Julie, he watches their social life dwindle as their closest friends also become “infected” with this running “disease.” Even at work, Jean-Louis feels guilty, noticing that his colleagues run during their lunch break or head off for mountain trail runs on weekends. Will the couple resist the social pull of running?
- “Xavier Diskeuve’s new ‘running film,’ moving from social horror to musical comedy, is quite a performance!”
Translation from L’Avenir
- “La maladie de courir is like a good breath of fresh air that feels great. The short film is satirical, wild, and slapstick, just like our Belgian friends”
